The Tampa Bay Rays have made another round of cuts this Spring as they continue to trim their roster down to 26-men in preparation for Opening Day, which is just over two weeks away. Following their first wave of reassignments on Monday when the Rays reassigned nine players, including number one overall prospect Wander Franco, the team made 10 more cuts to their Spring roster with the players listed below: Brent Honeywell, RHP* Vidal Brujan, INF* Shane McClanahan, LHP* Jose Lowe, OF* Brendan McKay, LHP/1B* Kevin Padlo, INF* Luis Patiño, RHP Drew Strotman, RHP* Taylor Walls, SS* Joe Ryan, RHP * - denotes if player is on 40-man roster The list is a mix of players on and off the team's 40-man roster and all of them have their place near the top of the Rays prospect rankings. Shane McClanahan is perhaps the most surprising cut of the Spring thus far for the Rays. He has dominated in each of his brief outings in the Grapefruit League; however, for the time being, the Rays will hope to keep McClanahan has a starting pitcher rather than as a weapon in the bullpen and will give him time at the alternate site to lengthen out his arm.
